Discussion > The Siegle Memoranda

Other than two pages that were posted by a newspaper of Siegel's memoranda, does anyone have any emails, correspondence or other memoranda surrounding it that they would be willing to share?

Call the Chief. I'm sure he would give you a copy. Pete will know how to contact him.

In one newspaper story (I believe the NY TIMES), you're quoted as saying that your brother's subordinates, the firemen in the house, told Capt. Bosco that they didn't have to inspect 130 Liberty St.

Just wondering---is that the chain of command in the FDNY today: from the bottom, up? Do the firemen tell the officers what to do, and the "officers" comply? Did Capt. Bosco contact the Battalion or Division to verify what his subordinates told him? And, if he did, is there a Company Journal entry to the fact?

BTW...could you publish a copy of Capt.Bosco's report to the Battalion or Division with his recommendations to use the HazMat company or a Squad Company to do the inspections?

As I say...I'm just wondering.....

Ed, there was a STAFF Chief named Cavanaugh a few years back. Could this be you and if so just curious as to whose side your on.I don't even know this guy but I can tell you this I've seen many a cover up in My time in the job and this guy is the sacrificial lamb so all the backstabber staff chiefs can keep thier jobs. The commissioner as well. Is anyone going to try and tell me that nobody above the rank of Deputy knew about the place and how ugly it was. I live 1000 miles away now and knew how bad it was as I did recovery work in it right after 9-11 and Chiefs who are now BIG SHOTS were sending us up and down those stairs every time remains were found. No my friend this one falls DIRECTLY on metrotech.

Very helpful Ed. Have another bourbon and go back to you're think tank.

Hi Ed: Just so you are aware, when a new Boss comes to a house, he ALWAYS should rely upon the knoweldge and experience of those who have worked there for years. The Battallion and Division would similarly rely upon those that were there before them. Remember, the current administration has disallowed those promoted to remain in the same areas they worked in prior to promotion, so everything is new to a new boss.
