I feel real bad about how pete got railrodaed, we worked together in the 8th for a few years. In order to do a proper inspection of that building, 10 Eng would have needed haz-mat suites (bunker gear not an option because they would have all had to be sent out for decon after every entry into building),a decon task force to supervise decon procedures(1 batt chief, decon eng and rescue support truck), and they all would have to be out of servise for most of the day tour in roder to accomplish this.......does this sound like something the Capt of an Eng company will decide??? Hope this helps a bit, good luck and ALL of the rank and file are on your side Pete.
The order to NOT inspect the building had to come from the Mayor Office.
I have been following Pete's story and blogging about it. I will continue to do what I can to get the facts out. Good Luck Brother.
